Holiday Bliss...and Blast!

Good day friends & VICTORIOUS Man Utd fans...

After much travelling and suffering a massive hangover after celebrating Man Utd's triumph over Chelsea in the CL Final in Moscow, its about time I got back home and updated you guys on what's been happening and what's GOING to happen. Now that sounds like fun eh? To all the Chelsea fans out there in Malaysia (if not mistaken, there's only about a handful of them...), accept the fact that it was Manchester United's destiny to win the trophy this year...ahhh, just love saying that word 'Destiny'...Many thanks to the slick pitch in the Luzhniki Stadium for opening up the earth, thus enabling and allowing John Terry to be the only one to slip and fall at the crucial moment. *smirk*

Oh yess...apart from that victorious moment, we all want to congratulate all the people who got water baptised almost 2 weeks ago during Sunday service! Congrats yea? Now you're a full-fledged, Spirit-filled, pentecostal, anointed Saint of God! :) My apologies for not being able to name all 26 of them (if I can only find that list!). It was truly a memorable day for all of them...being able to publicly declare their faith in God and share a short testimony of how this decision came about to the entire church. For those of you who want to be baptised in a more dramatic atmosphere, we'll prepare a spot along Klang river one day yea? It kinda' has the same look and feel of being baptised in the Jordan river...:)

Here's the 26 candidates lined up on stage to share their testimony. For some, it was a looooong wait to the end. Haha...

And the last kid on the block was none other than Trisha Ching! Haha...bet she lost wait just by standing and waiting for her turn. Here she is being baptised in that ever so memorable baptism pool of ours...Brings back good memories...I feel like crying...*sob* And yes, she also received all the blessing of the previous 25 ppl that were baptised. I'm sure they gave the water enough flavour and colour before she finally took a dip in it! Hahaha....

Oh yes...first it was about baptism, next is about ppl getting older! A very Happy Birthday to Cmdr. Jeff who celebrated his ??th birthday on the 18th of May 2008! This is one person that I will always address as 'my commander'...

And a week later, it was time for Lisa Lee to get into the act. Monkey see, monkey do. :) Happy Birthday to you too, Ms. Huei Lin! She turned sweet 18 last Sat...

And fresh out of the oven...here's our die-hard ranger Sherlyn, who celebrated her 18th birthday also exactly two days ago!! Woohooo...she's still new to being 18, so we'll give her some time to get used to it yea? Haha...God bless, gal!

So friends...tell me, what's been happening? What's the latest news in town? Here's a few things that I heard....

i. Daniel Seliong broke his bed (not sure what was he doing at that moment...). Do you wanna know what time is it when this happens? Its TIME to GET a NEW BED!

ii. Shaun Lim is soooooooo bored that he actually studies hard these days!! Can you believe that? What happened to the fun and adventure of being in NZ, bro?

iii. Futsal in Real Sports is OFF this Sunday as most of the happening players wont be around...:)

iv. Heard that there's this really cool place that serves superb Pork Chop...its called Wendy's Bistro. Kenneth Ng has been advertising for it feverishly on his MSN...looking for kaki makan. Those interested, just give him a buzz yea?

v. Expedition Rangers, please take note that we'll be going for Bowling on the 7th of June at Sunway Pyramid around dinner time. Do join us for a fun-filled night as we celebrate your going-back-to-school...hahaha!

vi. And yes, the best news of all is....CHURCH CAMP IS ONLY 2 DAYS AWAY!!! Wooooohoooooooo!!!

So friends, dont forget to pack in your goggles, lappies, foootie shoes, bible, trunks, etc etc etc...and everything else that you need to have a fun & fantastically-crazy time together with your fellow friends and rangers in Church Camp 2008! Its time to wake up the sleepy town of Taiping, friends! And also, a time for some family re-union...those interested in going to Taiping Zoo, its only RM5! As though we dont have enough monkeys around....:)

Enjoy your hols while it lasts, friends...cauz then its time for the second leg of the year, which is always the most crucial part...and then its over to extra time and penalties! Let's hope each of you have a better season that Chelsea (and Liverpool & Spurs & Everton...). Continue to live strong and stay Saved! God bless!

Saturday Night Live...

Hey rangers,

How you guys doin on a Saturday (late) night? I'm hopin' that each one of you had a really good day today...just doin all that needs to be done and getting some rest as well as catching up with friends! We all love the weekends, dont we? Looking back on the day, its been a good one for me. When a team like Pompey lifts the FA Cup, you know its definitely a good day...:)

The day started off with an OJT session at KP McDee's with Daniel 'the Flying Iban' Seliong, Sherlyn Wong and Li Shan. Many thanks to them for keeping me waiting for 45mins on a Saturday morning...not too bad though. Had the McDee bfast meal and entertained myself by watching Kung Fu Dunk that was playing in Speedy Video opposite McDee! :) Had a good time sharing to Li Shan about the gospel and the saving grace of Jesus Christ! There's really nothing more powerful that sharing from our own personal testimony about the saving grace of God and the reality of Jesus Christ...Thank God for opportunities like these!

Then a few of us dropped by Seri Kota Medical Center to give our dear friend Cmdr. Theresa a visit. Fyi, she was hospitalized since Thurs for dengue fever...Hmm...told her not to go and play near longkang and all...adui...must be Kevin and Kenny la. Breeding mosquitoes for fishfood! :) Just kidding...anyway, she's doing absolutely fine this morning. Looking as bright and spunky as eva! Always a pleasure to be able to bring laughter and smiles into the hospital ward...:) God-willing, she'll be discharged tomorrow. Continue to keep her in your prayers, yea? "Tanpa dia, siapa la Air Asia..."

Then in the afternoon, we had a very informative session watching the movie 'Amazing Grace' during college cell. This show speaks about the fall of the slave trade in the British Empire, and the struggles of the people who fought for equal rights for all man. And to understand how that famous hymm was written, this movie made us realize and brought new meaning to the term 'God's amazing grace'. To see the struggles and the oppression turned to freedom and redemption for all...that's powerful.

Even as I reflect back on the week, I thank God for all that He's done. God chooses different ways to speak to His people...and as for me, God really speaks and ministers to me through songs and music. I'd like to share with you a song that God has placed in my heart this week. Its simple, yet powerful. And through this song, I pray that you too will be blessed and ministered. One day, we'll definitely do something with this song...
Be blessed and enjoy this lovely piece...

Not because of who I am
But because of what You've done
Not because of what I've done
But because of who You are...

Sleep tight, and dont let the bed bugs bite! God bless and I'll see you in less than 8 hours time...:)

Here's to the night...

Hey friends...

Its been a long and tiring day for me (business as usual...). I believe that most of you are currently going through your school exams, eh? Gosh I missed those days...Well, so many things to look forward to after this week, rite? Exam-free, holidays, church camp, loads of time to fellowship and just be free! Hope you guys are as excited as I am and looking forward to an amazing second half of the year! Time really does fly, I'm telling you...

Even as I look back on the things that happened from Jan - May 2008, truly I can say that God has been faithful and He has continued to bless people through this ministry of Royal Rangers. Despite many personal disappointments and tough times, God has always been there and Has never failed to lift me up. My strong foundation, my shelter from the storm, my fortress in the time of war...that's who my God is. And even as I look at the many blessings he's given me and to this ministry that I love, I know for sure that for as long as I cling on to Him at ALL times, He will see me through. I'm sure He will do the same for you. The secret here is to 'give thanks for all things, and cling on to Jesus....For some of you, that is my message for you this day.

I personally want to thank God for a number of things tonight...For a start, I thank God for the leaders in RR. The biggest challenge for any outpost/ministry is the availability of the leaders that form the backbone of this ministry. And here in Selangor #6, we are blessed to have so many young and vibrant leaders and also our senior and veteran leaders who are committed, dedicated and passionate about impacting the lives of the youths and children. I thank you guys for everything we've gone through together. Truly, its been a amazing journey seeing how God blesses and uses us in this life-changing ministry...I know God has laid a vision in my heart and I have 'seen' what He has in store for us. If only we are willing and would say, "Yes Lord. Use me!"

I also want to thank each one of you rangers who have faithfully committed yourselves to come for the RR meeting week in and week out. Without you guys and girls, who's gonna' drive your leaders up the wall? Haha..just kidding. But you guys are the very reason this ministry exists and lives on. My prayer is that God will continue to use each one of you in every area and phase of your lives to be that light for the lost...showing them the way to the Father. Remember friends, living for Him is the only thing worth living for at the end of the day...

Have a good break during the coming holiday season. Everyone has worked hard and deserves this time off...especially Man Utd. Rest well, boys. We've got the big one comin' up next week! And so friends, I bid you so long, farewell and goodnight. Its really really time for me to hit the sack. And if you're still online at this hour of the night, you might want to try sleeping early once a while...Yea, i know what you're thinking. Look who's talking, rite?? :)

God bless!

A Mother's Day Tribute...from Man Utd! :)

Well, what an ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC MOTHER'S DAY its been!!! :)

From all of us here in RR Sel #6, we'd like to take this opportunity to wish every mum out there a very Happy Mother's Day! This day was specially made for each one of you, and we hope you had a fantastic day with your families! We also hope that you love the roses that were given out by the RR leaders and rangers as you made your way into our church sanctuary. Its a simple and beautiful way of saying how much we appreciate each one of you for a lifetime of selfless dedication in building the home and our lives. We love you, mum!

Interestingly, the final game of the EPL season was played yesterday too...and if you haven't already known, Manchester United HAS RETAINED THE PREMIERSHIP TITLE!!! Wooo hooo!! So much for all the pre-match hype and big talk...when it was time to get the job done, the results speak for itself. Remember friends..."Form is temporary. Class is permanent." Write that down...

Just to share with you some of the happenings from yesterday's dramatic match...

Here's goal no. 41 for our flying winger, Christiano Ronaldo! Did you know that he shares the same birthday as me??? :)

10 Premiership titles..and still many more to come! Next target: To overtake Liverpool's record of 17 League titles. Man Utd is now on 16! Watch out, Kops...that record is about to fall!

Here's the dinosaur of the team, Ryan Giggs lifting the trophy for a record 10th time!!! Now that's what I call a living legend...now he can finally be placed in a museum! :)

Well, while every Man Utd fan was busy partying and celebrating in the streets (while the Blues continued to stay blue...), the Boss and some friends had a little celebration of our own...a few of us gathered in our dear Nigel 'Rooney' Lim's house, namely the Boss, Dan Seliong, Zhi Fung, Sern Yi, and interestingly...a Spurs fan, Jayson Phuan. And with the majority of ppl in the house being Man Utd fans (except only for Jayson), it was obvious that something was going to happen to the poor hapless spurs fan. :) And we certainly did not disappoint. Wanna know why MU has the largest fan base in the world?? Well...look at the video and you'll know why. No wonder other clubs are running out of fans! Enjoy the vid, ppl...

Needless to say, Jayson Phuan is now a full-fledged Man Utd supporter...I can assure you. With all the 'abuse' and 'persuasion' he received from his friends, who could even say no...:)

Have a good day, pals! Its already a fantastic start to the week for me! Time to paint the town Red...

RR Council Of Achievement 2008! (Cont...)

Well friends...I guess I'm ONE day late...more or less...

But anyhow, I'm feeling kinda happy, relieved and looking forward to the weekend simply because.....

YUP! Guess that pretty much says it all eh? Anyway, its good to be alive this weekend! Then again, its always good to be alive...Anyway, continuing from where I left about 30 hours ago! This post is specially dedicated to all the leaders and E-Rangers of Selangor #6! You guys never fail to drive me up (and down) the wall, never fail to put a smile on my face by your lame jokes and antics, never fail to inspire me to do more for God, and always there to lend a supporting hand and believing together in our cause and goals for this ministry! Thanks for the good times, the lifetime of memories, and most of all...for the smiles and laughters that went a long, long way to touch my soul...:)
This is for each one of you...

Here's my man...Daniel Ng! With the rate he's going, we'll have another GMA receipient in about a year's time! Keep the fire going, bro. You Da MAN! And also the Iceberg....and Carlsberg....

Melissa oh melissa...she may look as sweet as an angel, BUT....I'm telling you, this girl definitely packs a punch! :) Rock on...

And so, now that we're done with the ER boys and girls...its time for the Adventure Girls to take their place on stage to perform their song and yell! Here's lil' Chun Mi Shie leading the pack of chilli padi...
One of the coolest standards I've seen in a while...Patrol Guide Carissa Lim and her Slimy Spaghetti!

Presenting their song and yell...

Their rivals from Merseyside...led by Trisha Ching! She's totally de BOMB! :) Explosive, dangerous, and definitely wakes you up! :)

The only patrol who encouraged the crowd to buy Proton...here's the Adventure Boys Titanium Tiger patrol led by the cutie-cutie Lucas Chee! Malaysia loves you, bro...
One of the most outrageous patrol standard I have ever seen in my life...here's the Hairy Ang Mo Tan (Rambutan Berbulu) patrol! Looks more like the Beheaded Strawberry Pirate group...:)

And last up was the Iceberg patrol (led by Daniel Ng) who got into the groove even before they got up on stage. Really loved the energy! Stay cool, rather than hot...:)

Here's our Outpost Chaplain Pas. Commander Gideon Lee doing what he does best...inspiring the rangers to live for Him and to live our lives according to the RR Code. Rangers, always remember the story about the bus conductor and the passenger, yea? Continue to live for our Master Ranger, Jesus Christ! At the end of the day, He's the only one worth living for...

Once everything's over and done with, its time for some group pics! Here's the Ranger Kids looking kinda 'low-sugar' for once! Haha...Well done to Cmdr. Eric and his leaders for good work so far!

Next up, here's the 'Boys-To-Men' group...the Adventure Boys! Such a pleasure to be able to work with these fine bunch of rangers! Imagine them learning about the birds and the bees, the bear and the honey, the rat and the hamsters, armpit hair, moustache maintenance, and the shock of waking up and sounding as though a toad crawled down your throat! Exciting times of their lives, for sure...haha! Front row: Cmdr Simon, Cmdr. Andy, Cmdr Ben and Cmdr. Jason!
Here's the Discovery Boys group...the original 'Energizer Bunny' age group in Sel #6! With all their energy combined, its enough to power up a small village! Stay hyper and run for the Lord, guys!

The Adventure Girls...apologies for the side-angle shot...too many photographers running aroung with their spanking new SLR cams! Haha...all very kaya-kaya and prosperous these days, wei! Even the girls had a tough time deciding where to look at!

Expedition Rangers 2008! From row: Cmdr. Reuben, Daniel Seliong, Sheila Yong, Cmdr. Gid, Kenny & Kevin Chin, Cheryl Lim (tiba-tiba masuk only...), and Cmdr. Will-I-am! Together with all the leaders, we salute each one of you! Its an honour for us to be a part of this group!

Now that all the formal pics are taken, its time for the rats to come out and play-play and pose-pose! See laa...suddenly all the camera-loving spirit in them was unleashed!
"Thank you...thank you...dont mention it...please please help yourself to the refreshments...courtesy of Sel #6...eat up puas-puas, ok?" Su Vien waves to her adoring fans...

RR Selangor #6 COA 2008! Part 1

Hey hey rangers and friends of all ages! Peace be with you...

And so, after another busy busy busy and memorable weekend, it is my joyful duty to update each of you faithful readers on the latest happenings in Selangor #6! Well, as we all know...we had our annual Council of Achievement last Sunday, and it was a totally cool and fun-loving event. Being with all the rangers, saluting and recognizing the achievements of our fellow rangers even as they walk up the stage to receive their merits. As a leader and commander, there's nothing more satisfying than to see your rangers walk up the stage proudly and receive their awards for all the hours of hardwork they put it to earn it. As your commanders, we salute you rangers and want to say to you, "WELL DONE!".

Enjoy the pics, courtesy of Kenny Chin...

Here's the 'Program Coordinator' Cmdr. Eric giving out the orders and getting his lil' kids organized...busy man for the day!

Hey hey...check out the dude on the bottom right! Exactly like Hitler, especially the moustache...here's Uncle Nelson! The proud father of not 1, but 2 ranger boys!

"Ooooooo...ooooooo..." Kelly goes wild!

And slowly but surely, they gathered in this place and filled up every seat available!

A true contender to Lucas' role as outpost mascot! Here's Bryan...such a cutie, aint he? :)

Here's the E-Rangers looking cute before the event... Su Vien with the puffer-fish look!

Our emcee for the day, Cmdr. Andy getting things started off in the dark!

Cmdr. Ben and Simon doing a short opening skit portraying an extremely knowledgable ranger boy who tries to explain the entire galaxy to Simon!

Here's the two of them checking out the stars in the sky, unknowingly..their tents had been stolen!

RR Sel #6 Council Chairman, Michael Tan giving us his opening speech...

I had no choice...front row this time around. So had to be on my best behaviour...haha!

Almost every chair was filled with a Royal ranger...glad to see all the parents present too!

And so, after keeping the rangers waiting for almost 30 mins, we finally got down to the main part of the event, which is the COA itself! We started off with Councilman Robert Chan giving out the merits to the Ranger Kids age group. My apologies for not being able to post up pics of every ranger who acheived their merits...time constrain. If not, i'll have to sleep around 4 or 5am. :)

Councilman Jeremy Lam presenting the certs to Lydia Ngor from the Discovery Girls age group.

Hey hey...check this out. Its 'the new kid on the RR block'...a BIG WELCOME to Councilman Jeff Yee, for being the newest member in the RR Outpost Council. Looking forward to an exciting year ahead with him onboard! Here seen presenting the cert to Simon Yap!

Congrats to ranger Travis Ching for earning his merit.

Here's the Discovery Girls patrol presenting to us their song and yell! We had a real fun time listening to them belt out their funny tunes...

Up next was the Falcon patrol from the Discovery Boys age group! Cool eh, A standard that can be worn on the hands...

Here's the Lion's Club Klang chapter...just kidding. Its the Evolution Lion patrol from the DIscovery Boys age group!

The COA ceremony then resumed with Adventure ranger Debbie Lam receiving her official cert and merits from Outpost Chaplain, Cmdr. Gideon.

Trisha oh Trisha...another crowd favourite! Because of her smile, she earned herself an extented handshake from Cmdr. G...

Next came the turn for the Adventure Boys to walk up the stage and bask in the glory of the sun! Merits presented by Sr. Commander Reuben.

Here's Brian Lau in his brand-spanking new uniform that was delivered to him the day before the event! Looks like a perfect fit to me...:)

Ah hah! Life would be a less happier place without Lucas. This kid never fails to put a smile on my face! Well done, lad...

The biggest mystery of all in COA 2008...why in the world in Kendrick known as a Powerpuff Girl??? I really wonder....hmm....

And so friends...I think I should stop here for now. Its really getting late and I dont want to be late (again, as usual) for work. Do stay tuned for the 2nd part of the RR COA 2008! The post should be up by tomorow...

Till then, stay well and God bless!
