Grabbing life by the ball

Just in case your mind has been starting to wonder off... *pops bubble* The title was referring to the Adventure Ranger's all time favorite game - Dodgeball!

Dodgeball is a game in which players on two teams try to throw balls at each other while avoiding being hit themselves. Yea.. pretty much our version of a snowball fight since we only get summer all year through!

There are many variations of the game, but generally the main objective of each team is to eliminate all members of the opposing team by hitting them with thrown balls, catching a ball thrown by a member of the opposing team, or forcing them to move outside the court boundaries when a ball is thrown at them.

Here's the Adventure Rangers in action!
And yes, it includes keeping yourself from being hit. Ranger Jonathan Na showing us how it's done... the creative way. Boys will always be boys!
And as the famous saying goes:
If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball!

Have a great Monday everyone! Here's wishing that your day turns out better than the guy above (;

#throwbackthursday

Greetings!

We sincerely apologize for the lack of updates but as the title states, it's Throw Back Thursday! #tbt
Half of the year has already gone by (how did that happen!) and as we look forward to a greater second half, let's take a look back on the activities that has took place in the last six months...

1st Central District Ranger Kids' Camp | 22 February 2014

"On the 22nd February, ranger kids from all across Klang Valley gathered together for one purpose, the SUPERHERO daycamp! The camp was held at the premise of Grace Klang and was attended by over 110 hyper-active super kids.

It was a fun-filled and activities-packed day that allowed the kids to be Thor, fling spider webs, and also shoot down bad guys with nerf guns! They also experienced their first ever council fire that night in the open, displaying their awesome-looking costumes and holding a glowstick in hand each too.

Ask any of them how was the camp and you will have the biggest grin on their face as they all went back with not only a lego superhero, koko crunch, but also an identity that they can identify and relate too and also to draw strength from the one and only true superhero, Jesus!"

Outpost Campout | 21-24 March 2014
80 campers, same venue and Outpost Campout for the 2nd year in a row!
Four days of the great outdoors, fun, excitement and coming back to the heart of worship. The rangers had to build their own dining tables, benches, chippewa kitchen, tool craft area, cook their own meals, shower in the cold and learn how to hike the jungle in total darkness! But best of all, nothing beats bonding together as an outpost at night with nothing but games and laughter. Memories we'll always cherish and look back upon even as we turn 80, old and crooked.

Soapy Tug-of-War! BEST GAME EVER!

Hats off to the DR commanders who brought 21 cute and clumsy discovery rangers ice-skating on a Sunday! But of course our little rangers did not look like those two in the picture above.. They were most probably too busy getting their little butts off the ice the whole time.. how cute is that! eeekkkss!

4th Central District Pow Wow | 28-31 May 2014

A camp that you should not have missed! A time where young people from all over Klang Valley gathered for great fun, excitement and the opportunity to know and grow with their Maker. The camp of 440 rangers was held in Nur Laman Bestari, Ulu Yam, and hosted rangers from other neighboring countries as well!

We were privileged to have Rev Gideon Lee and Pastor Chong as our camp speakers.
Rev Gideon Lee is the Senior Pastor of Tabernacle of Praise, Penang (TOP). He has a calling to raise the next generation of leaders empowered to preach the Word and ministers in the power of the Holy Spirit. He also serves as the National Director of the Royal Rangers ministry in Malaysia.
Pastor Chong on the other hand is the Deputy Senior Pastor of Bethel Assembly of God, Singapore. He is also the Deputy National Commander of Royal Rangers, Singapore. He is a dynamic speaker with a passion to inspire young people to be future leaders in God’s kingdom.
In accordance to the theme "More Than Conquerors" from Romans 8:31, the rangers were split into 6 different groups, namely the Samurai, Knights, Ninja, Vikings, Khan and Gladiator. This is War people! Rawrrrrr

If you've missed camp this time round, fret not! We are coming back to you again in 2018. So block your dates already! No reason to miss it again (: See you there!
