Wild Wild West Christmas Party 2008!

Howdy, partner!

Yup...what a weekend its been! And I'm not even talking about Liverpool & Arsenal's draw or the fact that MU has just been crowned the World's Best Football Club (once again). What can I say...for all those in the so called 'Big Four', the only way to prove your club's worth and bragging are the number of trophies won...so here's to Man Utd: Merry Christmas, Champs! :)

And yes...as we all know, some of us dream of a white Christmas, some dream of Santa...and some dream of his reindeer. But hey, ever wondered what it'll be like celebrating Christmas in the wild wild West? Imagine cowboys, cowgirls, Red Indians, campfire, star-lit sky...it just brings you that good ol' blue-grass country feeling, doesn't it? Well, RR Sel #6 decided to bring the Wild Wild West to our very own backyard this Christmas...and what a fun time we had together!!

Its been a while since we all dressed up silly and had loads of fun together as an outpost around the campfire, and so this Christmas...we just wanted to chill and relax. Preparations for the big party began early in the afternoon, with the constant threat of rain looming over our head...it was definitely going to be a tricky day. Eventually the rain decided to fall, and gave us some moments of concern....but hey, God is good. What else can I say? He stopped the rain at exactly 6pm, and that made things all the more interesting for us. Imagine setting up the whole place AGAIN in 30 mins. :)

Anyway, I guess all of your faithful readers are looking forward to see the pics eh? Well, from a selection of more than 500 pics, here's the selected pics for your viewing pleasure and the do take time to read the story too! Many thanks to our in-house photographer, Monsiur Nigel Lim...for capturing every moment and ensuring nothing is lost or forgotten. One thing for sure...these memories will last a long long time. Enjoy and God bless!

For The Sake Of The Call...

"We will abandon it all, for the sake of the call..."

These words still echo loudly in my ears (like a bunch of little red indians pounding away on my eardrums) everytime we come to December. Why? Cause its the time of the year for Mission Trips!! And this year...we're going further, sending more people than ever before, we're reaching out as far as we can go! His people deserves to hear His Word...and so we're taking it to them!

Just to let you know, there will be a total of almost 54 youths and leaders from our church who will be going for mission trip this time around! Praise the Lord for all of them who have taken this step of faith to be used by God to bless the people of Sawarak and Sabah! Yes...this year, we're going in to Sabah too! And trust me, we're all excited and geared up for the challenges and tasks ahead!

There will be a total of 3 teams going to Sawarak this year. Please do keep our dearest Pas. Gideon, Kenneth Ng and Asher Quek in prayer as they'll be leading a team to Sarawak. Just some slight info...they'll be ministering in a church in Kuching and will be heading out to the longhouses for an amazing time of ministry work and adventure! Imagine this...longboat rides, cruising through the forest, hiking up hills and rolling down the valleys, almost 10 whole days without our cellphones, Facebook and MSN....awesome!!!

The Sarawak team will be leaving tomorrow morning at 4am! Please do keep them in prayer. They'll be in Sarawak from the 6th - 14th of Dec. I'm looking forward to hear many awesome testimonies!

The Sabah team will be leaving on the 8th - 17th of Dec, and will be led by Cmdr. Andy Gan. We will be travelling and ministering at Pitas (right at the tip of the dog ears of Sabah), focusing on churches and social works. And to cap it off, all 14 of us will be doing the climb of our lives...Conquering Mount Kinabalu!!! So please please do keep us all in prayer...14 go, 14 must return.

Here's some pics of mission trips of yester years...

Sarawak Mission Trip - 2006

Sarawak Mission Trip - 2007 (Batch 2)

Sabah Mission Trip - 2008
Mount Kinabalu...here we come!!!

Till then, we wish the Sarawak team a safe journey and a blessed trip ahead! Not only do they have God on their side, this time around...they also have a superhero with them, our retired Superman, Pas. Gideon Lee. Take care of him, boys and girls. Heard the knees are weak, sugar level is high, waist looks prosperous, and we're not too sure if he's still able to fly. :)

God bless and have a blessed day ahead! Can't believe it's already Friday....

Isaiah 6:8 And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”

RR Leader's Lunch 2008!

Monday blues....monday blues....literally (if you're a Chelsea fan)!

I'm glad to say...all my wishes and dreams came true this past weekend. The Red tide swept over the city, and as for the Blues...well, let's just say that they're very very blue now. And as for the Gunners, for the first time in history, I actually supported them. :) All in all, its been a very good and entertaining weekend, I must say.

Just to share with you...the RR leaders and commanders of Selangor #6 had a small appreciation lunch, to thank and appreciate the leaders for all the hardwork put in throughout the year 2008. Though its not much, but from the bottom of our hearts, we'd like to say to each one of them, "Thank you for serving faithfully in the RR ministry!"
Enjoy the pics, friends...

Grace, Amy Tan, Cheryl and Amy Joy sharing some quality women-time together.

And on the other table, we have the oldies and goldies...what do to? The younger ones didn't want to sit with us. They said we're not energetic and happening enough. :(

Of all the commanders seated on the table, they had to force the oldest one to do the serving! Cmdr. Grace Loh being the mummy for the day...

On the other side, they got the senior citizen to do the serving pulak! Here's Cmdr Gideon and family, together with Councilmen Jeff Yee and Desmond Ong.

Cmdr. Andy doing what he does best...feeding the rest! See how happy Jayson is, sitting in the middle of the two mature men?

Awww...aint he cute or what? Josiah had to good time too...judging by the amount of noise and screaming he belted out! Haha...

"Common guys...could you please pass me the extra food?" Cmdr. Gideon pleas with Simon and Lisa...

Here's Cmdr Andy doing the sickest thing with the half-cooked egg yolk...keeping the rest in his table entertained! He was literally playing with it...in the mouth - out of the mouth - and back in the mouth again! Ewwwwww!!!

Cmdr. Daniel tried hard to follow...but his ended up being fried egg!
And also...just in case you didn't know by now:
Guess who's BACK!?!?

Yup, its our favourite lambchop, Shaun Lim!! Welcome home bro...1st destination once he got home? Mamak shop. He sacrificed his meal in the flight...just so that he could feast on nasi lemak the first thing he got home. Now that's what I call 'Choice of Champions!'.

Alright friends...that's all for now and today. Time for me to get back to work. November has come and gone...Welcome to December! Its the most wonderful time of the year, I reckon! God bless and hope your week keeps on getting better and better...Adios!
