Hear, Hear! #8

This week we have a life testimony from our very own Ranger Josephine!

I started joining Rangers back in 2010 when I was ten. I'm thankful for my mum who introduced me to the Royal Rangers ministry. Without fail, she would fetch me to church every Sunday and pick me up once Rangers is over. I first joined Discovery Rangers.

After joining Rangers for awhile, I finally went for my first outdoor camping trip which was the Royal Rangers outpost campout during March 2013. I had such a wonderful time at camp together with the rangers and commanders. It was during the camp that I came to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Savior. I took the step of faith and courage and walked to the front and said the sinner's prayer. Since then, I have always felt the joy of the Lord in my life and I also feel the peace that surpasses all understanding.

How has Rangers impacted me? Well, Rangers has helped me to come to know the Lord and taught me various life skills and knowledge that I would not be able to learn in school. I became more independent and I expanded my social circle as well. I'm proud to be a part of Royal Rangers ministry. All praise to God :)

Amen! Indeed receiving the Lord as our personal Savior is the best decision we can ever make. We're so proud and happy for you Jo. May you continue to grow in beauty and stature with the Lord (:

Blessings!

Hear, Hear! #7

My name is Shiew Ying. I started joining Royal Rangers since I was 12 years old. My favourite thing about Rangers is camping. My first camp was Camporama 2012, it was a memorable one. I like this camp because we got to know more new friends and there were many types of games such as dodge ball, flying fox and many more. There are also other camps in Royal Rangers Selangor #6 such as outpost camp, JTC, and ER Survival Camp. Outpost camp is a camp where all Royal Rangers Selangor #6 gather together. I like the activities in Outpost Camp because there are games, council fire, morning parade and hiking. This year, Outpost Camp was held at a different venue. We usually camp at Gombak but this year's camp location was Kuala Kubu Bharu. Last year, there was a major camp called Pow Wow, I like that camp too because the activities were extremely fun just like Camporama! And that's why I like Royal Rangers so much!

Woohooo! Camping indeed is fun! More often than not it's through camping that we get to know each other better as well as grow stronger in the Lord (:
And yes! Camporama will be back next year. Mark your calendars!

Hear, Hear! #6

Happy Tuesday!

Here's another post from the Hear, Hear! series but this time round we're featuring the Adventure Girls instead!

Just in case you don't know what this is all about...

Hear, hear is an expression used as a short, repeated form of hear, hear him. The actual source can be found in 2 Samuel 20:16. "Then cried a wise woman out of the city: 'Hear, hear; say, I pray you, unto Joab: Come near hither, that I may speak with thee.'" (KJV)

So in conjunction with the Gold-bordered Communication Merit that the Adventure Girls are achieving, we're going to post stories about how Royal Rangers has impacted their lives. Do keep a lookout for more and hear what they have to say! Here's one from Ranger Nicole Tan (:

My name is Nicole Tan. I started joining Rangers since I was 10 years old. I'm now 14 and in Adventure Rangers. My favourite activity in Rangers is camping. My first camp was Camporama in 2012. It was a memorable camp as various outposts all over Malaysia got together and represented various states, we went as Johor! There were lots of activities and games and among them dodge ball is my favorite! There are also other camps we have in our own outpost Selangor #6 such as Outpost camp, AR Camp, ER Survival camp and many others. Outpost camp is a camp where the whole of Royal Rangers Selangor #6 gather together. The activities are fun! There are hiking, council fire, morning parade and more. This year we went to a different campsite. We usually have it at Gombak, but this year was at Kuala Kubu Bahru. There were many fun incidents and happenings as new year new season! Some of the Adventure Rangers got "Colgated" by toothpaste during the last night at Outpost camp. And.... we did that (;  hehe

Last year, there was also a major camp called Pow Wow. It was an extremely fun camp just like Camporama! But sadly it rained heavily the whole afternoon and we had to use old cloths and newspapers that we brought to wipe the tents which meant that we couldn't play games. Yet although we couldn't play games, we enjoyed ourselves nonetheless. These are my experience in Rangers. What about you? (;

Love your excitement for camps Nicole! Really encourages us commanders that all we do for you rangers are worth it (:
And we've finally found our Colgate culprit! Better be careful Nicole, you might be next hehe
Continue to shine for God ya!

Much love from us all
