Youth Alivers! The time has come for us to move...

Even as the song goes...

Maybe redemption has stories to tell
Maybe forgiveness is right where you fell
Where can you run to escape from yourself?
Where you gonna go?
Where you gonna go?
Salvation is here...

Fifa La' Familie '06...

Football Mad Nation! YOU BET!!!

Seems like the whole month is evolving around a round object being kicked about by 22 players! All the way from Germany to Klang...ahhh....what a great month to come!!! Oh well, since everyone's got the 'disease'@footbalitis, to help the football maniacs and their family members cope with the widespread epidermic, our church decided its time to take action before the matter gets out of hand! On the 10th of June, the Kingsmen (the old & rich men ministry), Ladies Ministry, and of course Youth Alive! of GT Klang jointly organized the first ever 'Fifa La Familie'!!! Basically, its a Father's Day and Mother's Day dinner thingie...just that its combined this year. Tell me friends...what's better that watching a football match and having a 9-course dinner together with the whole church??? Woooo hoo!!

I'm tellin' you...there's like loads of parents and grandparents out there dying to get into their football jerseys and having their faces painted, to feel young all over again...and to experience this 'once-in-4-years' syndrome...The night was fun, colourful, creatively-painted faces all around, and most of all...loads and loads of laughter! I'm telling you friends...its an amazing moments to get the whole church together with their families, just fellowshipping around the table and sharing one common passion! Ok..maybe two...football and food!

The night started off with a sensational latin/samba dance by our very own girls! Wat a way to get things going...They danced to the World Cup '98 theme song and man...they looked good in their jerseys! Thumbs up for the ladies! Oh, and trust me...we ain't never seen such a dance presented before us like they did...things were indeed getting hot in there...:)

I hope the photos below will tell you the story of the night...enjoy!

*photos courtesy of Kenny-fly*

Right from the moment people stepped into the restaurant, they immediately got into the groove by getting their faces painted by a certain culprit doning the blue of Chelsea....Eh, who's grandma is that?

Lisa getting her dose of L'Oreal!

When one does it, the other half must follow! Phaik Joo on the receiving end...

Now you all gotta' check out Amy...doesn't she look soooooooo much more prettier after carrying out the maintenance work on her face? :) Respect...

Asher and Amy...they looked exactly like 2 kacangs in a nut on that night!

The emcees for the night...posing with the individual who was responsible for our new look!

Now this one is a classic...at first he pretended by saying that he didn't want his face painted... then after some slight decoration to his face, he INSISTED he wanted more! :) Cmdr Gideon...looking more like the Braveheart dude...check out the cross!

And as always...what goes around comes around! Matthew 7:12

The Dutch family from Teluk Pulai... The van De Lams!

Football brings the world together! The English family with their Italian daughter...

Even the young were gettin' into the act...I'm proud of you, boys!

Game of the night: Its a pretty simple game...10 couples needed. Wives are seated on chairs on stage. Their faces and body covered with a cloth. Only their feet are exposed. Husbands have to identify their wife simply by looking at the feet. Simple? Haha...not really, actually.

The men checking out the feet of their wives...this was probably one of the toughest decision-making situation in their lives. A wrong choice could mean ending up sleeping on the couch...but that's not too bad actually. They still have the TV and world cup to keep them company! :)

Once the veil was released, the joy and satisfaction of making the right choice was obvious. 8 out of the 10 couples picked the 'right' wife. As for the other 2, they just couldn't decide which belongs to who...haih...:) All in all, loads of laughter and great fun for all present...except for the 2 husbands...hehe

Nigel and Tzi Li reciting a poem specially for the parents...*touching*

The emcees too had a blast of a night too...moving from table to table, asking football and trivia questions to those present. To see the parents have a good time is truly rewarding!

More trivias and more smiles...

Asher in action!

Of all people to pick, little did Asher know that she picked the National Commander of Royal Rangers Malaysia to answer her 'skincare' question...Cmdr. Wong Hon Chong!

The Chins in action...not forgetting the photographer who's also a Chin!

Loads of gifts and goodies were given out during the Blessed Draw!

Jayson, the lucky winner of skincare products...such a happy man!

Amazingly, Shaun was one of the winners too...happy winner of Nestle products! Kinda suspicious when these fellas started winning...I sense foul play...haha!

The best look-a-like family award was presented on that night too...and without a shadow of doubt, the winner was Pas. Lau and family! In fact, his whole table was the winner! Check out their simple yet innovative and prize-winning design! Congrats...

The dinner ended at about 10.00pm, just in time for everyone to rush home to catch the 2nd half of the Eng vs Paraguay match...which to be honest, was a pretty pathetic game by England, at least. Haha...ook, for all you England fans, you'll get your chance to 'kutuk' me once by beloved Argentina takes the field. Till then, dont cry...

To sign off, I hope you'll enjoy the compilation of the many faces present on that day. They say football brings the world together. But friend, most importantly...football brings the family together! One Passion, One Goal...Football!

Fever Time!

Hey hey ppl!

1.50am in the morn now...nothing much to do...so I guess I had better start blogging! Just in case you people have been wondering whats been happening to me...well, nothing much to say except that I'm busy busy busy...but dont worry. I'll still find the time to keep all of you insatiable creatures out there entertained with the latest happenings...

I'm sure by now we've all realized that the FIFA World Cup is currently on-going and most Malaysians men are by now football-nuts and have contracted the 'Footballitis' disease...which can be pretty annoying for all the ladies out there, esp the the wives, the girlfriends, sisters, grandmothers, dear mamas...etc...etc.. trust me! Anyway, if your man is looking for a mc letter...you know lar...to 'ponteng' school, to take a one-month vacation, suddenly fall sick for the whole month...here's one letter from a certain doctor that might help you achieve your World Cup dream...hehe...

Do try it out guys...ad let me know what happened! :)

Lend Me Your Ears!

Hello there buddies and rangers!
Today is monday. I hate mondays! That means...that's almost 6 days till the next rangers meeting! Man..that seems like eternity. Perhaps some of you out there can share with me some interesting ideas to kick the monday-blues...
Well, while thinking about the programmes lined up for the E-rangers over the second half of the year, and after a brainstorming session with the commanders...I said to myself, "Why dont we ask the rangers themselves what they want to do?" Now that's a brilliant idea! Clap Clap...So rangers, now that you've heard my rantings...

What do YOU want to do as Expedition Rangers???

Do throw suggestion in the chatbox or preferably, leave a comment. The activities can either be indoor or outdoor. Dont limit yourself to the usual stuff we do. Think out of the box. Think out of this world! For some of you who like to watch paint dry, we can consider that. For some of you who like massage and facial treatment, we could consider that too. If you love highland camping, that could be fun too! How about a hiking-style camping trip? One night here, one night at a different location? We could even go chase chickens!
I guess you get my point. I'll be waiting...
