AR @ Bukit Cahaya

Hola!

What else other than cycling when it comes to the famous Bukit Cahaya outing right?
Presenting you the always-hyper-full-of-energy Adventure Rangers of Selangor #6 and their mighty bicycles!

The Adventure Rangers are currently completing their Nature Study Merit which requires them to collect and identify leaves, seeds, flowers, birds, insects and everything nature. So off to Bukit Cahaya we went!

Here's Cmdr Reuben and the Adventure Rangers who are busy identifying trees
Picking up leaves in a line? Such disciplined order! but also a few seconds before Ranger Daniel accidentally fell into the drain. aiya.. but no worries! He's fine (:

Besides picking leaves and flowers, we got to see some animals too!
Deers vs Ranger Boys. Who's cuter? You be the judge! hahaha

And a group picture to end the day (:

Can't thank God enough for good weather and safe protection!
But after all the fun, Adventure Rangers do remember to flatten your leaves, wood, flowers, identify them accordingly and bring them back next week!
Another step closer to receiving your  Nature Study award!

Cheers!

Song & Yell!

Hola!

As usual, the start of the year always entail the presentation of new songs and yells! And as promised.. here's a short clip of some of the songs and yells presented during last Sunday's opening!

Click HERE to view! Enjoy (;

And good job to all you rangers who came up with such creative songs and yells! But of course as the professional basketball player Tim Duncan once said:

 'Good, better, best.
Never let it rest.
Until your good is better
 and your better best.'

There's always space for improvement! So it should be safe to say that the commanders can expect to see even better presentations and standards during next month's opening yes? (;

Keep up the good effort guys!
Cheers

First Aid - CPR

The First Aid - CPR is a required merit to earn the Gold Medal of Achievement. But firstly, what does CPR stand for? CPR is the abbreviation for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Where Cardio refers to the heart, Pulmonary refers to the lung and Resuscitation means to revive from death or unconsciousness. Needless to say, it is important to remember that CPR can help save lives! Of course CPR alone is not enough to save lives in most cardiac arrests. However, it is a vital link in the chain of survival before the victim is able to get advanced support.

In line with the above, it is of importance that our rangers are equipped with the basic first aid knowledge in order to always be ready! Ready to respond to any accidents or injuries and give aid to the victim.

So tonight, the Expedition Rangers despite having school in the morning, came to church for their CPR test!

There are two parts to the CPR test. A theory and a practical test. The latter can be seen below where Ranger Jia Jun performs the CPR on Resusci Anne, also known as Rescue Anne, Resusci Annie or CPR Annie, a model of training manikin used for teaching cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
And we have Cmdr Mike Kuna with us, a certified CPR training instructor who has been faithfully teaching First Aid in the various outposts. Thanks Cmdr Mike!

And here's a very stressed out Ranger Erwin
But guess what! Kudos to all of them as they've all passed their practical test tonight! Woohooo!! See, no reason to stress la Erwin :P Now to just wait for the results of their theory test (; *fingers crossed!

Good job guys! The commanders honor the effort you all put in to attend classes at night and do extra studying (:

Another step closer to becoming a certified first aider! (:

Signing off for now and we shall see you all Sunday!
Song and yell for the year 2015 coming right up (;
