Sarawak Adventure 2007 - Day 4 (Part 1)...

Ho Ho Ho...greetings from Santa and his reindeer friends...and me too...

More updates! This time for Day 4 part 1...

This is where the REAL adventure begins...the stuff that we came over for...our team's main objective...to be a channel of God's blessing to His people! And so...we rose up early on Tues morn, got ourselves prepared and started our hike to a nearby longhouse. The agenda for the morning was to visit a couple who had recently accepted Christ, and to encourage them in their walk and faith in God. How amazing, friends! We flew all the way from KLIA to be with this couple on that very morning...isn't God good? As always, I'll let the pics do the story-telling...

Our first hike during the trip took us about 30 mins to reach the 1st longhouse. Its good to be finally going out to the longhouses after almost 3 days...

Here's the group posing in front of the longhouse...everyone's pretty excited and can't wait to get started and meet the people in there!

This longhouse has about 17 pintu (families) and the couple we ministered to stayed all the way at Pintu 1, right at the other end of the longhouse. Interestingly, that always seems to be the case! :)

Alison and Tzi doin their thing...checking out toe-nails and big-eyed pose!

The group seated around the meeting place...this was officially our first meeting in the longhouse!

"I'm telling you...we're hoping to see some really big CROCS along the way..."

The legendary...Bujang Senang...

I love this shot...seems like Wei San has caught the emo fever...:)

Shaun and Eric given the honour of being the Songsheet Boys...happy eh, Shaun?

The group getting things started by singing some Iban praise & worship songs...

That morning, Jon Lee shared a short message to encourage the couple, and to persevere on in their faith, and how God has been faithful to him. Its not a coincidence or by chance that Jon shared that morning...God has a purpose for everything...I'll tell you why soon...

Both Reuben and Kevin looking guilty and convicted...

Cheryl taking it a step further by weeping...:)

And so, after the sermon the team proceeded to pray for the couple and their home. Their kids have all left home and are currently working outstation. So it does get lonely for them at times, especially the feeling of missing their kids...so, it was good for us to be there to share our joy with them, as we've got loads of it!

The couple that we ministered to. His name is Renggi. Didn't manage to get the wife's name. Apologies. They certainly look like a sweet ol' couple...

Believe it or not...after praying for them, both Renggi and his wife couldn't help but stare at Jon and wept. According to them, Jon looked so much like one of their son, whom they miss very much. And to see Jon was like seeing their own child coming home...

Eric praying for Renggi and his wife...

Daniel too found someone that reminded him of someone close back home...

With tears in her eyes, she watched us make our journey back to the church. Truly we have been blessed with this opportunity to bless others...

Two other old ladies trying to copy the emo pose in the previous pic...

And so, with heavy hearts, we made our trip back to the church. Many stories to share along the way, many laughters shared and smiles exchanged. Cheryl even accepted a challenge to remain silent throughout the 30-min hike back. Amazingly, she did it. Miracles STILL do happen...there is a God...haha!

The day's not over. Its just the beginning. Our next destination: Lubok Nibong Longhouse in the afternoon. But I'll save that for the next post...stay tuned, friends!

Have a fantastic weekend, and I'll see ya at the partyyyyyyy!! Puji Tuhan!
