Yess...the Boss is finally back! From where? I have no idea...been around town actually. Went into hiding for a while after Arsenal pipped Man Utd to avoid the press and the 3 Arsenal fans in Malaysia. Did you know that there's probably only about 10 Arsenal fans in Malaysia, and 3 of them are in GT? Anyway, now that MU is back in action and Arsenal are back to their comical best, its time for me to say Hello to the world once again and keep you updated with what's happening!
Please take note that there will be RR meeting this Sunday, 23rd Nov at 1.30pm. It will be the final official RR meeting for the year, as we will be taking a break in December as most of the leaders and older rangers will be away for mission trip. More on that in the upcoming post.
But anyway, do not be overwhelmed with sadness and sorrows. We DO have something good in store for all of you! Yess...keep 20th Dec free yea? We're gonna' have a 'wild wild west Christmas' with all the rangers and leaders together under the moonlight! More details on that in the coming days...keep a lookout for it! Its the Year-End party that you dont wanna miss!!
As part of our commitment to provide you with good stories, valuable teachings and edifying articles here in this blog, for the next few posts, I'll be posting up some interesting points that was written by Rick Warren, author of the best-seller 'Purpose Driven Life'. Many thanks to Councilman Jeff Yee for the email. In this mini-series, he focuses mainly on the 'Six Essential Commitments For Leadership', which I would like to share with all our readers today. We'll start off with the first point for today:
Six Essential Commitments For Leadership
by Rick Warren
Leaders are always defined by self-imposed standards. I’m not talking about standards set by other people, but standards they set for themselves. Great leaders always expect more from themselves than they do from their followers. They put forth more effort as well.
That’s leadership.
If you were to look through the New Testament for the phrase “make every effort,” you’d find it six times. They represent six important vows we need to make as leaders. I believe these six vows will lead to an effective and productive ministry.

1. Vow to maintain integrity.
“Make every effort to be found spotless, blameless, and at peace with him” (2 Peter 3:14).
God doesn’t expect us to be perfect. No one is perfect. To be spotless and blameless means to live with integrity. How do you maintain integrity if you’re not perfect? You need to be transparent. A person of integrity is not claiming to have it all together in every area. On the contrary, the person of integrity is willing to be open about their strengths and weaknesses.
Having integrity also means living what you say you believe. You model what you teach. And you tell the truth, even when it’s tough. All leadership is built on trust. And trust comes from having the reputation for living out what you believe and for telling the truth. As a pastor and leader, people must trust you.
Will you make a commitment to lead with integrity? Will you be honest about both your strengths and weaknesses? Will you commit to living your sermons out every week? Will you tell the truth to those you lead even when it’s tough?
Do take the time to read through the article and continue to strive to be a more effective and dedicated leader in all that we do...service unto the Lord.
Here's a picture that I will never forget. Camporama 2000! Selangor #6 - KLIA! Brings back lots of really good memories for all of us, I reckon...
Have a blessed week ahead, friends. The Boss is off to KK now...God bless! Stay alive and for my SPM friends...hang in there! Just a week more to go before you can fly once again!
