Six Essential Commitments For Leadership - Part 3

Good morning, friends...

The time now is 1.52am. To be perfectly honest with you, its the teh tarik thats keeping me awake. So while my brain is constantly being bombarded with thoughts of little sheeps running and jumping over a wooden fence, I thought it might be a an excellent time to do some ranting over here in the blog! :)

Well, let's recap what happened over the weekend...it basically started off with a bunch of teams shooting blanks all night long. Its not common when the 4-horse battle ends up with blanks and rubber bullets for 90+ mins. Nevertheless, watching the Gunners being gunned down was an eye-candy, I must say. At least it brought a smile to at least 3 billion people across the globe. But hey...there's a new skipper in town. Gone with the old, in with the new (kid). We'll see how well Cesc Fab performs as the new kindergarten head prefect. :)

Here we see Gallas and Cesc Fab doing the 'Loo loo, skip to my loo' dance...told you so. This new skipper can really 'skip'. Bet Gallas was muttering 'You're dead, pal' in French...

Anyway, jokes aside...for the 3 Arsenal fans in Malaysia, please do not take this personally. Its all being done for the sake of good sport. The next time when the Kops or the Blues crash, I'll be sure to put a good post on it. But of course...if Man Utd were to lose, sorry la. I'm closed for the week. You go blog about it on your own blogs...haha!

And yes...last Sunday, the E-rangers had to make some last min adjustments in their program as the planned Skytrax trip did not materialize due to logistics and booking issues...and so, to satisfy the ER's cravings for adventure and uninhibited excitement, we came up with an equally exciting event..........photos courtesy of DanSel aka BlueDan @ DanJay @ IbanBaby :)

Can you sense the excitement in Cmdr Kenny's face (and eyeballs)??? I dont know about you...by the way I see it, I think his eyeballs are slightly misaligned. Dont you think so too? No worries...this Christmas, with a lil' help from us, we'll make his eyes see straight and keep him focused on God. Haha!

Anyway, what was he so excited about? Well, that's cauz we had a PIZZA party for the rangers!! Trust me...anything to do with good food, they'll be all fired up and attendance will be full house! Best part is...some of them even skipped Sun breakfast and Sat night dinner cauz got free pizzas on Sun. Terrible fellas...freeloaders! :)

Yum yum yum....12 large pizzas in total! God bless Dominos...and RR of course. Some fellas champion la...some were born small-eaters. Some were born moderate eaters, and some heavy and large eaters. But some were called for a specialized ministry...natural-born MPK, or should we say...Alam Flora. They're basically the clean up crew...they eat all that's left behind, and also anything the closely resembles food!

The entire pack of wolves in action! Trust me...nothing was left behind. What a fun time together....celebrating our last RR meeting for 2008 in style. Italian cuisine! Haha...

Well hey...we weren't the only ones who had a good time! The Discovery Rangers too had a blast of a time...getting into the Christmas spirit and winter season by Ice Skating in Pyramid! From what I heard...these gorgeous kids had a superb time skating and falling! More pics to come in the next post...stay tuned!

Be blessed even as you read up on part 3 of the Six Essential Commitments for Leadership!

Vow to relax and trust God.

“Anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from his. Let us therefore make every effort to enter into God’s rest” (Hebrews 4:11).

If you’re going to be in ministry, you’ve got to learn to relax. You need to be concerned about the people around you, but at the same time, you’re not God. You can’t bear everybody’s burden all the time.

How do you release those burdens? First, you’ve got to pray. Ultimately, God is the one responsible for your flock. He’s the one responsible for the growth of your ministry. Share your burdens with him in prayer. Then you need to spend some time in God’s Word meditating on his promises.

Remember what God has done in the past:
– in God’s Word and in your own life. God has a good track record of taking care of us.

Remember that when you’re tempted to let the stress of your ministry position overwhelm you. Will you commit to surrendering your stress to God?

Have a good sleep tonight and don't bite the bed bugs! I pray that you'll have sweet dreams of ice-cream, chocolate cookies, jam tarts and one huge piece of KFC chicken...God bless! And oh...many thanks for your prayers for Cmdr Ben Yee. He's finally been kicked out of the hospital and is back home, still surviving. Time to get well, bro.

"Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Isaiah 40:30-31
