RR Selangor #6 COA 2008! Part 1

Hey hey rangers and friends of all ages! Peace be with you...

And so, after another busy busy busy and memorable weekend, it is my joyful duty to update each of you faithful readers on the latest happenings in Selangor #6! Well, as we all know...we had our annual Council of Achievement last Sunday, and it was a totally cool and fun-loving event. Being with all the rangers, saluting and recognizing the achievements of our fellow rangers even as they walk up the stage to receive their merits. As a leader and commander, there's nothing more satisfying than to see your rangers walk up the stage proudly and receive their awards for all the hours of hardwork they put it to earn it. As your commanders, we salute you rangers and want to say to you, "WELL DONE!".

Enjoy the pics, courtesy of Kenny Chin...

Here's the 'Program Coordinator' Cmdr. Eric giving out the orders and getting his lil' kids organized...busy man for the day!

Hey hey...check out the dude on the bottom right! Exactly like Hitler, especially the moustache...here's Uncle Nelson! The proud father of not 1, but 2 ranger boys!

"Ooooooo...ooooooo..." Kelly goes wild!

And slowly but surely, they gathered in this place and filled up every seat available!

A true contender to Lucas' role as outpost mascot! Here's Bryan...such a cutie, aint he? :)

Here's the E-Rangers looking cute before the event... Su Vien with the puffer-fish look!

Our emcee for the day, Cmdr. Andy getting things started off in the dark!

Cmdr. Ben and Simon doing a short opening skit portraying an extremely knowledgable ranger boy who tries to explain the entire galaxy to Simon!

Here's the two of them checking out the stars in the sky, unknowingly..their tents had been stolen!

RR Sel #6 Council Chairman, Michael Tan giving us his opening speech...

I had no choice...front row this time around. So had to be on my best behaviour...haha!

Almost every chair was filled with a Royal ranger...glad to see all the parents present too!

And so, after keeping the rangers waiting for almost 30 mins, we finally got down to the main part of the event, which is the COA itself! We started off with Councilman Robert Chan giving out the merits to the Ranger Kids age group. My apologies for not being able to post up pics of every ranger who acheived their merits...time constrain. If not, i'll have to sleep around 4 or 5am. :)

Councilman Jeremy Lam presenting the certs to Lydia Ngor from the Discovery Girls age group.

Hey hey...check this out. Its 'the new kid on the RR block'...a BIG WELCOME to Councilman Jeff Yee, for being the newest member in the RR Outpost Council. Looking forward to an exciting year ahead with him onboard! Here seen presenting the cert to Simon Yap!

Congrats to ranger Travis Ching for earning his merit.

Here's the Discovery Girls patrol presenting to us their song and yell! We had a real fun time listening to them belt out their funny tunes...

Up next was the Falcon patrol from the Discovery Boys age group! Cool eh, A standard that can be worn on the hands...

Here's the Lion's Club Klang chapter...just kidding. Its the Evolution Lion patrol from the DIscovery Boys age group!

The COA ceremony then resumed with Adventure ranger Debbie Lam receiving her official cert and merits from Outpost Chaplain, Cmdr. Gideon.

Trisha oh Trisha...another crowd favourite! Because of her smile, she earned herself an extented handshake from Cmdr. G...

Next came the turn for the Adventure Boys to walk up the stage and bask in the glory of the sun! Merits presented by Sr. Commander Reuben.

Here's Brian Lau in his brand-spanking new uniform that was delivered to him the day before the event! Looks like a perfect fit to me...:)

Ah hah! Life would be a less happier place without Lucas. This kid never fails to put a smile on my face! Well done, lad...

The biggest mystery of all in COA 2008...why in the world in Kendrick known as a Powerpuff Girl??? I really wonder....hmm....

And so friends...I think I should stop here for now. Its really getting late and I dont want to be late (again, as usual) for work. Do stay tuned for the 2nd part of the RR COA 2008! The post should be up by tomorow...

Till then, stay well and God bless!
